Art & Wash Component
Art & Wash Component (Water, Hygiene and Sanitation)
The Kôrè Cultural Center, after 8 years of experience and collaboration with development organizations in the field of WASH, functions as a resource center, orientation, advisory support for communities in matters of WASH (Water, Hygiene and Sanitation), particularly in the design and production of artistic tools, modular training, exchanges of experiences in ASCC[1] [2] and structuring according to the AMCS concept [3] as a vector of social change and of behavior on EHA issues.
This component, made up of the Beseya Blon and Maaya ni Beseya projects, is dedicated specifically to the AMCS concept and tools to influence behavior related to the issues and challenges linked to EHA. This new Art & WASH component initiated in June 2023 will engage the CCK in a dynamic of scaling up EHA issues and capitalizing on previous projects (Jini Beseya and Beseya Blon) in partnership with One Drop and WaterAid Mali through the new Maaya & Beseya project, and the creation of a database of social art tools and products in EHA.
The Art & WASH component is an innovative community development program that sensitizes, mobilizes, encourages and engages communities for behavior change through art for the adoption of sustainable habits regarding access and the provision of water, hygiene and sanitation services. This program serves as an interface between EHA projects and communities with a view to respecting social norms and beliefs, in harmony with local cultural values in Mali. Then professionalize local artists and actors and engage them artistically in order to make them levers of change by and for their communities.
The AMCS concept of CCK and the ASCC concept of One Drop are at the heart of the theory of change, from a sociocultural and economic perspective for participatory design and the implementation of an adapted action plan:
- To target groups;
- The behaviors to adopt (EHA, Citizenship, good citizenship, etc.);
- In the local context of intervention.
After the success of the Ji ni Beseya and Beseya Blon projects with our partners WaterAid Mali and One Drop, the CCK will launch the Maaya ni Beseya project in March 2024 to place its Art & WASH approach in a dynamic of sustainability.
